You have fatigue and low libido? you may suspect male menopause [late-onset hypogonadism (LOH)]
Are you experiencing persistent fatigue, trouble sleeping, or low libido?
These symptoms may indicate male menopause or late-onset hypogonadism (LOH). Why not consult us and check for possible underlying causes?
At our clinic, we offer specialized consultations for male menopause (Late-Onset Hypogonadism, LOH syndrome)
What is Late-onset hypogonadism (LOH)?
If you suspect male menopause, also known as late-onset hypogonadism (LOH), as the cause of your recent fatigue and low libido, it’s important to understand the condition and seek appropriate medical evaluation. LOH occurs due to a gradual decline in testosterone levels as men age
Physical symptoms:
- Fatigue: Persistent low energy levels.
- Decreased libido: Reduced interest in sexual activity.
- Physical changes: Loss of muscle mass, increased body fat, and reduced bone density
Mental symptoms:
- Mood changes: Irritability, anxiety, or depression.
- Sleep disturbances: Difficulty falling or staying asleep.
- Loss of Motivation/Interest: A decline in dopamine levels linked to low testosterone may contribute.
- Irritability and Anxiety: Hormonal changes can disrupt mood regulation.
- Depression and Insomnia: Altered hormonal balances may influence sleep and mental well-being.
- Cognitive Decline: Low testosterone may impact brain function, leading to memory and focus issues.
If two or more of the above symptoms apply to you, it may indicate the possibility of male menopause or late-onset hypogonadism (LOH)
Unlike female menopause, male menopause (Late-Onset Hypogonadism) does not occur at a specific age. When hormone levels decline, symptoms can persist throughout life if left untreated
Diagnostic and Treatment Process
① Counseling by the physician
If you are experiencing symptoms suggestive of male menopause (LOH syndrome) or wish to undergo testing, our physicion will offer detailed diagnostic evaluations.
Additionally, we provide consultations for concerns such as AGA (androgenetic alopecia), ED (erectile dysfunction), and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
② Testing
Through blood test, we check testosterone levels as well as liver and kidney function. Additionally, we screen for lifestyle-related diseases.
Rest assured, we comprehensively evaluate the test results alongside any symptoms you may be experiencing to determine the best course of treatment.
③ Treatment
For male menopause (andropause), short-term testosterone replacement therapy (injections) is commonly used. However, for busy individuals, regular visits may be difficult, and inconsistent follow-ups can lead to fluctuations in blood testosterone levels after injections, increasing the risk of side effects.
At our clinic, we offer long-acting testosterone injections (commonly known as Nebido) or oral medications (typically 1–2 tablets per day). This provides more convenient and stable treatment options tailored to your needs.
④ Regular checkups & consultation on AGA・ED・Premature ejaculation
Male hormonal replacement therapy can be continued while regularly checking the testosterone level and checking with your doctor for any changes in symptoms associated with treatment. We also provide consultation and treatment for AGA (androgenetic alopecia) and treatment with ED drugs for erectile dysfunction as well as premature ejaculation.
